Project Description

Located within the iconic Dubai Mall, The Souk is a curated luxury retail destination celebrating the essence of Arabian heritage through architecture and materiality. Designed as a contemporary homage to traditional Emirati marketplaces, the concept draws on cultural symbolism while delivering a refined, modern experience for high-end shoppers.

At the heart of the design is a striking gold-textured ceiling that evokes the opulence of regional craftsmanship, enriched with soft integrated LED lighting that enhances spatial rhythm and guides footfall. White marble flooring is delicately inlaid with a brass X-pattern motif—an abstract reference to the “khayma,” the tent-like forms that have historically symbolized shelter, hospitality, and tradition across the Arabian Peninsula.

Arched portals, mashrabiya-style latticework, and carved details frame the boutique façades, echoing Arabic architectural language while enabling seamless integration with global retail brands. The result is a visually immersive and culturally grounded space that unites luxury commerce with a deep sense of place—inviting, elegant, and unmistakably regional in identity.
