SBD delivered a bold and modern concept design for Bijou, a beloved neighborhood spot in Rathgar, Dublin, reimagining it as a contemporary deli, gastro café, and rooftop terrace experience. Known for its charm and community appeal, the new design balances local familiarity with urban sophistication—creating a destination that is both vibrant and welcoming.
The concept redefines the ground-level deli and café with a warm, minimalist palette, high-performance materials, and open-plan kitchen elements that enhance visibility and customer interaction. The interiors blend natural textures with sleek detailing to establish a setting that’s equally suitable for casual coffee catchups or gourmet meals.
A highlight of the design is the rooftop terrace, envisioned as a lush, elevated escape in the heart of Rathgar. With bespoke seating, ambient lighting, and greenery-lined railings, the terrace brings an entirely new dimension to Bijou’s offering—ideal for social gatherings and seasonal dining.
This concept establishes Bijou as a contemporary neighborhood icon—rooted in its history, yet shaped for the modern diner.
