Al Raha Gardens is a master-planned residential community developed by Aldar Properties. The scope encompassed the master planning and full architectural design of six distinct villa and townhouse types. The brief called for a development that combined authenticity, diversity, and a strong community identity, resulting in a tranquil, family-oriented enclave along the Abu Dhabi coastline.
The architectural vision was to create the effect of a naturally evolved village, rather than a uniform residential block. We approached this by designing housing clusters with traditional Arabian motifs paired with modern spatial planning. These clusters were arranged within 11 sub-communities, each with its own unique scale and architectural character—such as Muzera, Yasmina, Al Mariah, and Sidra—and interwoven with green spaces, schools, retail hubs, and community facilities. The alternating design styles introduced by the two architectural teams were carefully balanced to establish visual richness while preserving a coherent overall identity.
Spanning over 665,000 square meters, Al Raha Gardens emphasizes garden living, with verdant landscapes, pedestrian-friendly zones, and thoughtfully placed amenities. Villas range from three- to five-bedrooms, offering wide terraces, private gardens, pools, and integrated service quarters for modern family needs. The result is a lush, well-connected residential destination that prioritizes quality of life, cultural context, and architectural harmony.
